Our client, a leader in agricultural innovation based in Johannesburg , is seeking a highly experienced Senior Agricultural Scientist specializing in agronomy.
This pivotal role will focus on developing and implementing advanced crop management strategies to enhance yield, improve soil health, and promote sustainable farming practices across diverse agricultural landscapes.
You will work within a dedicated research and development team, contributing to cutting-edge projects that address the evolving challenges in the agricultural sector.

Key ResponsibilitiesConduct in-depth field research on soil science, crop physiology, and pest/disease management techniques.
Develop and refine agronomic recommendations for a variety of crops, considering local environmental and economic factors.
Analyze experimental data using statistical software and translate findings into actionable insights for farmers and stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including agronomists, researchers, and farm managers, to implement best practices.
Prepare detailed scientific reports, research papers, and technical presentations for internal and external audiences.
Mentor junior scientists and provide technical guidance to field extension officers.
RequirementsA Master's or PhD degree in Agronomy, Soil Science, Crop Science, or a related agricultural field.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in agricultural research and development, with a strong focus on agronomy.
Proven ability to design, execute, and manage complex field trials and research projects.
Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., R, SAS) and data visualization tools.
Excellent knowledge of sustainable farming practices, integrated pest management, and soil conservation techniques.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
