Mine Planning Coordinator

About the Role Our client, a progressive mining company with operations in Midrand, Gauteng , is seeking a diligent and organized Mine Planning Coordinator to support their mine planning department.
This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth execution of both short-term and long-term mine plans by coordinating activities, managing documentation, and facilitating communication between various departments, including geology, engineering, and operations.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of mine planning data and schedules, ensuring all necessary resources and information are available for planning activities.
We are looking for an individual with strong administrative skills, an understanding of the mining lifecycle, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities Assist in the development and updating of short-term and long-term mine plans.
Coordinate meetings and facilitate communication between the planning team, geology, operations, and other relevant departments.
Manage and maintain mine planning documentation, including geological models, mine designs, and production schedules.
Ensure the timely availability of data required for planning activities.
Track progress against planned schedules and report any deviations.
Prepare reports, presentations, and correspondence related to mine planning activities.
Support the mine planning engineers with data analysis and modeling tasks.
Maintain organized filing systems for all planning-related documents.
Assist in the coordination of site visits and audits related to mine planning.
Ensure adherence to company procedures and standards in all planning-related tasks.
Requirements Diploma or relevant tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in an administrative or coordination role within the mining industry, preferably in mine planning or operations support.
Basic understanding of mine planning principles and processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Power Point.
Familiarity with mine planning software (e.g., Auto CAD, Surpac, Vulcan) is a strong advantage.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple priorities.
Detail-oriented and proactive in identifying and resolving issues.
Understanding of mining terminology and operational workflows.
