We are inviting mining or geology students who are keen to pursue a career in Geotechnical (Rock Engineering) to apply for our honours bursary programme. This is your opportunity to receive financial support, gain practical exposure, and access development opportunities that will set the foundation for a successful and meaningful career. 

Number of positions : 01 

Location: The Bursar will be based full-time at University in their year of study and then upon completion will join our graduate programme and rotate across all the Valterra Platinum Mines (Amandelbult; Mogalakwena and Mototolo).

Ready to Build a Precious Career? Here’s What You’ll Need 

• Be a final-year undergraduate student who is a prospective honours student in 2027

Minimum requirements: 

1. Academic transcript demonstrating student is in final-year undergraduate studies in either mining engineering or geology. 

1. Intention to pursue an Honours qualification in 2027 & pursue a career in Geotechnical (Rock Engineering) upon completion of qualification. 

1. A minimum average of 65% in latest available results 

1. Submission of academic transcripts 

1. Proof of Honours acceptance to be provided once available

Preference for our bursary programme will be given to learners from communities in and around our operations, in line with our commitment to local socio-economic development. Our South African processing operations are in Rustenburg in the North West Province and in Polokwane in the Limpopo Province. Our mines are located in Thabazimbi, Burgersfort and Mokopane in the Limpopo Province.
