The BCom in Risk Management will provide therapeutic counselling and emotional support, conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' social and prepare professional reports and recommendations.
The role is based on-site in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. The team values honesty, hard work, and treating every customer with respect. Responsibilities
- Prepare professional reports and recommendations for courts, parole boards, and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Supervise social auxiliary workers, volunteers, and community caregivers, providing guidance and support.
- Provide therapeutic counselling and emotional support to individuals, families, and groups facing life challenges.
- Liaise with schools, healthcare facilities, law enforcement, and other agencies to coordinate holistic client support.
- Maintain accurate and confidential case files and records in accordance with professional standards and data protection legislation.
- Develop and implement individualised intervention and care plans in collaboration with clients, families, and other professionals.
- Investigate reports of child abuse, neglect, and family violence, assessing risk and making appropriate referrals for protection.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in social work and registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions for social worker positions.
- A minimum of two to three years of experience in social work practice in the relevant field of service.
- Excellent assessment and report writing skills to produce professional documentation for courts and other authorities.
- A clear criminal record is mandatory given the nature of work with children and vulnerable persons.
- A valid driver's licence is often required for home visits and community outreach work.
- For social auxiliary worker roles, a certificate in social auxiliary work and registration with the SACSSP at the appropriate level.
