Senior Process Engineer - Chemical Manufacturing

About the RoleOur client is seeking a seasoned Senior Process Engineer to optimize and enhance their chemical manufacturing operations in Nelspruit .
This role is critical for improving process efficiency, ensuring product quality, and maintaining safety standards within the plant.
You will be responsible for troubleshooting complex process issues, implementing design improvements, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in chemical engineering, extensive experience in process optimization, and a commitment to operational excellence and safety in a manufacturing environment, contributing to the company's success through efficient and sustainable production.
Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze existing chemical processes to identify opportunities for improvement in yield, efficiency, and cost reduction.
Design, develop, and implement process modifications and new technologies.
Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues related to process equipment and performance.
Develop and maintain process documentation, including P&IDs, SOPs, and batch records.
Ensure all processes comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and R&D teams to achieve production goals.
RequirementsBachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in process engineering within the chemical manufacturing industry.
Strong knowledge of chemical process design, optimization, and scale-up.
Experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus) and control systems.
Proficiency in process safety management (PSM) principles and HAZOP studies.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
