The gate at an industrial park in Khayelitsha is the first line of safety, and you would be standing at it. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.
This post is Khayelitsha-based, with most of your time spent at an industrial park. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.
The work, day to day
- Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events
- Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed
- Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags
- Hand out and collect contractor access cards
- Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
You'll need
- Speaks and writes basic English
- Clean criminal record
- Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
- Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
- PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date
Extra points for
- Firefighting or evacuation training
- Experience on estate access apps or biometric readers
- First-aid Level 1 certificate
