This fleet maintenance workshop in Secunda needs a qualified mechanic who can handle services, repairs and electrical faults. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.
You'll be based at a fleet maintenance workshop in Secunda. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.
What you'll actually do
- Carry out roadworthy pre-checks on lights, brakes and steering
- Update control unit software when the manufacturer releases a campaign
- Road test vehicles before and after repairs
- Replace clutches, brake pads, discs, shocks and timing belts
- Keep your bay, tools and special service tools clean and counted
- Do wheel alignments and balancing on the alignment bay
Must-haves
- Motor mechanic trade test certificate (Red Seal) or occupational certificate at NQF 4
- At least 3 years as a qualified mechanic in a dealership or workshop
- Able to meet flat-rate or sold-hour targets
- Code 08 licence so you can road test cars
- Your own basic toolbox
