Lab Technician

We are recruiting a Lab Technician for a chemical company in Musina, Limpopo. You will conduct chemical analyses using techniques such as HPLC, GC, and spectroscopy, develop and validate analytical methods, and document results according to GLP standards. Strong analytical chemistry knowledge and laboratory experience are required.

Responsibilities

• Record and interpret test results accurately in the laboratory information management system, identifying trends and anomalies.
• Ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practice, Good Manufacturing Practice, and ISO 17025 accreditation standards.
• Prepare reagents, standards, and culture media accurately according to standard operating procedures.
• Investigate out-of-specification and out-of-trend results, performing root cause analysis and documenting findings thoroughly.
• Develop and validate analytical methods for new products or tests, ensuring methods are robust and reproducible.
• Write and review standard operating procedures, analytical reports, and technical documentation for the laboratory.

Requirements

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to document procedures and present findings clearly.
• Thorough understanding of laboratory quality systems such as ISO 17025 and the principles of Good Laboratory Practice.
• A minimum of one to three years of experience working in an analytical or testing laboratory environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in sample handling, testing, and documentation to ensure reliable results.
• Good problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot analytical methods and instrument issues independently.
• Proficiency in laboratory information management systems and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry
