About the Role Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance operations for their large commercial complex in Soweto .
This supervisory role is responsible for managing a team of maintenance staff and ensuring the optimal functioning of all building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general repairs.
You will play a key role in planning and executing maintenance schedules, responding to emergencies, and ensuring a safe and efficient working environment for all occupants.
This is an excellent opportunity for a leader with a strong technical background and excellent organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team, including electricians, plumbers, and general maintenance staff.
Develop and implement comprehensive preventive maintenance programs for all building systems and equipment.
Oversee the scheduling and execution of repairs, installations, and upgrades to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential maintenance issues and ensure safety compliance.
Manage maintenance budgets, control costs, and ensure efficient use of resources.
Act as the primary point of contact for maintenance-related issues, responding to emergencies promptly.
Requirements Proven experience in facilities management or a supervisory role in maintenance.
Strong knowledge of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural maintenance.
Experience in managing a team of skilled tradespeople.
Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
Relevant trade qualification or certification in a related field is highly advantageous.
