Financial Accountant

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, budgets, VAT returns and journals.
Maintain financial records using Pastel Accounting .
Manage customer, inventory, pricing and transport tariff setup within accounting and management systems.
Assist with product costing and margin analysis.
Oversee debtors and creditors, reviewing reconciliations and invoices.
Analyse inventory variances including raw materials, finished goods, packaging and diesel.
Compare actual expenditure against budgets and report on variances.
Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
Manage fixed assets, insurance administration and vehicle licensing.
Prepare regular financial and operational reports for management.
Maintain strong financial controls and perform monthly housekeeping activities.

What We're Looking For

BCom Degree in Financial Accounting.
Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar accounting role.
Manufacturing industry experience is highly advantageous.
Proficient in Pastel Accounting .
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
High levels of integrity, accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
