Key Responsibilities Oversee all aspects of day-to-day mining operations, ensuring production targets are met safely and efficiently.
Develop and implement operational strategies to maximize resource recovery and minimize costs.
Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring strict adherence to all health and safety regulations and best practices.
Manage and mentor operational teams, including mine supervisors, engineers, and front-line staff.
Monitor operational performance using key metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with geological, engineering, and maintenance departments to ensure integrated operational planning.
Manage operational budgets and capital expenditure proposals.
Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and company policies.
Conduct regular site visits and assessments to identify risks and opportunities.
Report on operational performance to senior management, providing insights and recommendations.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in mine operations management, with a strong focus on production and safety.
Demonstrated experience in managing both underground and open-pit mining operations.
In-depth knowledge of mining methods, equipment, and operational best practices.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
Strong understanding of mine safety regulations and environmental compliance.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels.
Experience with mine planning software and production reporting systems.
Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration is a significant advantage.
