Account Manager (Mid-Weight)

Barrk Marketing is a digital marketing agency in Cape Town working with B2B and B2C clients across paid, organic, content and email. We're looking for a mid-weight Account Manager to take on a portfolio of 10-15 clients and become the person they rely on for strategy, not just delivery.
You'll sit at the intersection of client relationships, marketing strategy and project management, working closely with our creative and marketing teams to keep campaigns moving and clients happy.
What you’ll do
Client relationships
- Build long-term relationships with your clients and lead the regular meetings that keep them informed
- Present strategies, campaign ideas and budgets, turning technical detail into clear guidance
- Own day-to-day communication, deadlines and expectations
- Spot opportunities to grow accounts and bring them to the team
Campaigns and strategy
- Own the strategy for your clients
- Drive campaign execution, working with the team on ideas, creative direction and approach
- Review work before it reaches clients, checking quality and brief alignment
- Analyse performance against budget and timeline, and recommend what to change
- Keep up with where digital is heading
Team and workflow
- Write clear briefs for the creative and marketing teams and manage the flow of work between them and your clients
- Track projects and deliverables in our project management tools
- Flag capacity issues early and bring in external suppliers when a campaign needs them
What we’re looking for
- At least 4 years in digital marketing, including 2 in a client-facing role
- Agency experience, or client-side experience that translates
- Comfortable managing several clients at once without dropping anything
- Confident presenting to clients and explaining performance data in plain language
- Working knowledge of paid, organic, content and email, enough to brief specialists well and sense-check their work
- Organised, proactive and happy to chase an answer rather than wait for one
- Comfortable using AI tools in your day-to-day work
- Cape Town-based
