Finance Manager

Job Description:

• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with operational and growth objectives.
• Manage budgeting and forecasting processes across crop, livestock, and export operations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in line with reporting standards.
• Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and financial requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity across international operations.
• Manage and analyse operational costs, including labour, inputs, equipment, and feed.
• Oversee import and export financial activities, including tariffs and duties.
• Implement foreign exchange and hedging strategies to mitigate currency risk.
• Assess financial risks relating to market conditions, climate factors, and supply chain disruptions.
• Support audit processes and maintain effective internal controls.
• Partner with farm managers and operational teams to drive financial performance.
• Lead and develop finance and accounting teams across multiple locations.
• Present financial results and insights to management, investors, and external stakeholders.
• Evaluate the profitability of farming operations and investment opportunities.
• Support sustainability initiatives through financial planning and analysis.

 
Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 4 years' post-qualification finance experience.
• Experience within agriculture, farming, exports, or related industries is advantageous.
• Strong foreign exchange (Forex) experience.
• Proven experience working with Xero accounting software.
• Strong financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
• Experience managing cash flow and financial risk in a multi-currency environment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong business partnering and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively across multiple regions and operational teams.
• Passion for agriculture and sustainable farming practices.

 
Qualification:

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field – Essential.
• SAICA articles completed
