A renewable energy developer in Springbok, Northern Cape is hiring a Process Engineer for wind and solar energy projects. You will conduct feasibility studies, perform energy yield assessments, design plant layouts, and manage engineering aspects of procurement and construction. Experience in the renewable energy sector is strongly encouraged.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all engineering work complies with relevant standards, codes of practice, health and safety regulations, and environmental legislation.
- Mentor and supervise junior engineers, technicians, and graduate trainees, providing technical and professional development guidance.
- Develop detailed engineering designs, calculations, simulations, and technical specifications for civil, mechanical, electrical, or process systems.
- Conduct technical analyses including stress analysis, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and structural integrity using industry-standard software.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are clearly communicated.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of engineering standards, codes of practice, and regulatory requirements applicable in South Africa.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to produce clear technical reports and present to varied audiences.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to apply engineering first principles to complex technical challenges.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating across engineering disciplines for integrated project outcomes.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering in the relevant discipline from a university accredited by the Engineering Council of South Africa.
- Proficiency in engineering design and analysis software relevant to the discipline such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ANSYS, or MATLAB.
- A minimum of five to eight years of postgraduate engineering experience with demonstrable project achievements in the relevant sector.
