Trade Finance Specialist

About the RoleOur client, a prominent international bank, is seeking a diligent and knowledgeable Trade Finance Specialist to join their team in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal .
This role is integral to facilitating global trade operations, managing complex trade finance transactions, and providing expert advice to clients engaged in import and export activities.
You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of letters of credit, documentary collections, guarantees, and other trade finance instruments, while adhering to international regulations and mitigating associated risks.
This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with a strong background in international trade and finance to contribute to a vital sector of the economy and support businesses involved in global commerce.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess and manage various trade finance instruments, including letters of credit (LCs), standby LCs, documentary collections, and bank guarantees.Verify and ensure compliance of all trade finance documentation with applicable laws, regulations, and international standards (e.g., UCP 600, ISBP).
Assess and mitigate risks associated with trade finance transactions, including country risk, counterparty risk, and fraud risk.Liaise with clients, correspondent banks, and other stakeholders to facilitate the smooth execution of trade transactions.Provide expert advice and support to clients on trade finance solutions, structuring complex deals to meet their specific needs.Monitor market developments and regulatory changes impacting international trade finance.Ensure accurate and timely processing of fees and charges related to trade finance operations.Contribute to the continuous improvement of trade finance processes and systems.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Finance, International Business, Economics, or a related field.Minimum of 3 years of experience in trade finance operations or a related banking role.Strong understanding of international trade regulations, payment methods, and financial instruments (e.g., LCs, guarantees, collections).
