Automation Engineer - Robotics & Control Systems

About the RoleOur client, a global leader in automated manufacturing solutions, is actively seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer with expertise in robotics and control systems.
This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute to cutting-edge projects from anywhere.
You will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining automated systems and robotic solutions for various industrial applications.
This role demands a deep understanding of PLC programming, HMI development, motion control, and robotic integration.
You will play a crucial role in enhancing our clients' manufacturing efficiency and productivity through innovative automation strategies, working entirely remotely.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, program, and commission PLC-based control systems for industrial automation.
Develop and integrate robotic systems (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB) for manufacturing processes.
Design and implement Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
Perform motion control programming and system tuning for optimal performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve automation hardware and software issues remotely.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including electrical schematics, sequence of operations, and user manuals.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers and project managers, on system design and implementation.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in automation technology, robotics, and control systems.
Conduct remote testing and validation of automated systems.
Provide remote technical support to clients and internal teams.
RequirementsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, with a strong focus on robotics and PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
Proficiency in programming and configuring major robotic platforms (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB).
Experience with HMI/SCADA software (e.g., FactoryTalk View, WinCC).
Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profinet).
Excellent remote problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose issues effectively without on-site presence.
Strong technical documentation and communication skills, essential for a remote role.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively in a remote work environment.
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with a distributed team.
