Procurement Specialist - Indirect Categories

About the RoleOur client, a rapidly expanding enterprise in the services sector, is actively seeking a skilled and resourceful Procurement Specialist to manage its Indirect Categories .
This role, based in Soweto, Gauteng , will be instrumental in sourcing and managing a diverse range of indirect goods and services, including IT, marketing, HR services, facilities management, and professional services.
The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, vendor management expertise, and a strategic approach to optimizing spend in non-production areas.

This position requires a keen understanding of the indirect procurement landscape.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the sourcing and procurement process for various indirect categories, ensuring alignment with business needs.Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers, conducting due diligence and performance assessments.Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and service level agreements (SLAs) with vendors.Manage and foster strong, collaborative relationships with key indirect service providers.Collaborate with internal stakeholders across different departments to understand their procurement requirements and provide expert advice.Monitor supplier performance, address any issues, and drive continuous improvement in service delivery.Identify opportunities for cost savings, process efficiencies, and value creation within indirect spend.Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements.Support the development and implementation of procurement strategies for indirect categories.Maintain accurate records of contracts, expenditures, and vendor performance data.RequirementsA Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.A minimum of 4 years of experience in procurement, with a strong focus on indirect categories.Proven negotiation skills and experience in managing complex service contracts.Excellent vendor management and relationship-building capabilities.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.Experience with e-procurement tools is a plus.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, enabling strong stakeholder engagement.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Understanding of financial principles related to procurement and budgeting.Must be based in or willing to relocate to Soweto, Gauteng .
