SUMMARY:
Fully Remote (South Africa – Johannesburg, Cape Town or Durban) Kickstart your career in data, analytics, and next-gen telecom technology. POSITION INFO:
An exciting opportunity is available with a fast-growing, innovation-led technology company operating in the telecommunications space. This team is building advanced, data-driven platforms that are shaping the future of network intelligence, automation, and AI-driven decision-making. They are looking for a BI Engineer —ideal for a strong graduate or someone with up to 3 years’ experience—who is passionate about data, problem-solving, and building smart, scalable solutions in a fully remote environment. What You’ll Be Doing You’ll play a key role in turning data into meaningful insights and improving business-critical systems:
- Unlock Insights from Data
Analyse and extract data to support reporting, dashboards, and decision-making - Support & Enhance Systems
Work closely with internal teams to maintain and improve core software platforms - Solve Technical Challenges
Assist with troubleshooting, configuration, and performance optimisation - Bridge Business & Tech
Translate business requirements into practical, data-driven solutions - Drive Continuous Improvement
Contribute to ongoing enhancements in an agile, fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Strong academic results (graduates encouraged to apply)
- Up to 3 years’ experience in a data/BI/software-related role (advantageous)
- Solid SQL skills, including writing complex queries
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Basic understanding of web applications and software systems
- Exposure to ASP.NET is beneficial
- Experience with Python, Perl, or other scripting languages is a plus
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote setup
- Strong communication skills
- Curiosity about AI-driven solutions and automation
- Interest in next-generation technologies and intelligent systems
- Enthusiasm for working with platforms moving toward autonomous network management
- Reliable high-speed fibre internet connection
