A leading organisation is seeking an experienced Payables Deputy to support the Head of Accounts Payable in leading a large AP function within a high-volume Shared Services environment. This is a senior management role focused on operational excellence, process optimisation, automation, and stakeholder management.
Requirements
- NQF Level 7 qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 8-10 years' experience in Finance, Accounts Payable, Transport Distribution (TD), or Payables environments
- Strong Shared Services experience
- Proven leadership experience managing large teams
- Strong Accounts Payable, vendor reconciliations, and invoice processing expertise
- Experience with SAP, Vendor Invoice Management (VIM), ReadSoft, or similar automation tools advantageous
- Advanced Excel and Data Analytics skills
- CA(SA) qualification advantageous
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support Accounts Payable operations, including invoice processing, vendor reconciliations, statement reviews, and balance validation
- Drive process improvement and automation initiatives across the AP function
- Ensure compliance with finance policies, procedures, and controls
- Partner with stakeholders to improve efficiency and service delivery
- Support the Accounts Payable Head in managing team performance and operational delivery
