iLembe District Municipality is a Category C municipality situated on the east coast of KwaZulu-Natal, bordering the Indian Ocean. It is the smallest of the provinces district municipalities, making up a mere 3% of its geographical area. iLembe consists of four local municipalities located between Durban and Richards Bay: Mandeni, KwaDukuza, Maphumulo and Ndwedwe. Description National Diploma / Preferred Bachelor Degree in Environmental Health 2-3 years working experience as an Environmental Health Practitioner Valid registration with HPCSA as an Environmental Health Practitioner Excellent in communication (verbal & written) Knowledge and understanding of legislative requirements, acceptable practices and procedures. Possession of a valid driver's license (code EB). Requirements Execution of Municipal Health Services as defined in National Health Acts, 61/2003 Provision of Health Education and public awareness to the community concerning environmental health nuisances Handling all health and safety queries and complaints from public Conduct Municipal Health Services inspections, taking samples and analysing samples Compile and submit reports on Municipal Health Inspections Perform any other task ad hoc duties as required by management from time to time Plan, monitor coordinates the application of procedures and sequences associated with environmental health General administrative duties
