We need a Financial Analyst for the business analysis team of a fast-growing technology company in Roodepoort, Gauteng. You will analyse business performance data, identify trends and opportunities, develop dashboards and reports, and support strategic planning with data-driven insights. Strong data analysis and financial modelling skills are required.
Responsibilities
- Analyse credit applications and financial statements to assess creditworthiness and make recommendations on lending decisions.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure information integrity.
- Manage cash flow and working capital effectively, including preparing cash flow forecasts and managing banking relationships.
- Ensure full compliance with all tax legislation and regulatory requirements, managing preparation and submission of all tax returns.
- Mentor and develop finance team members, conducting performance reviews, identifying training needs, and fostering continuous improvement.
- Provide strategic financial advice to senior management and the board on financial performance, risk, and growth opportunities.
Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in financial modelling and analysis using Microsoft Excel including building integrated three-statement models.
- Strong commercial awareness and business acumen to understand the broader context of financial decisions.
- A professional accounting or finance qualification such as CA(SA), CIMA, CFA, ACCA, or an equivalent recognised designation.
- In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards, tax legislation, and the Companies Act in South Africa.
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or economics with an honours degree or postgraduate qualification strongly preferred.
- For credit roles, thorough understanding of credit risk assessment methodologies and experience with credit rating models.
- A minimum of five to seven years of progressive experience in financial management, investment analysis, or a related field.
