Chemical Process Engineer - Optimization Specialist

About the RoleOur client is seeking a highly analytical and results-oriented Chemical Process Engineer specializing in Optimization for their operations in Paarl .
This role is dedicated to enhancing the efficiency, throughput, and cost-effectiveness of existing chemical manufacturing processes.
You will analyze operational data, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategic solutions through process modifications, equipment upgrades, or advanced control strategies.

Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze process data to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for yield improvement and cost reduction.
Develop and implement process optimization strategies using statistical analysis and modeling techniques.
Design and execute experiments to validate process improvements and gather data for scale-up.
Troubleshoot complex process issues and recommend sustainable solutions.
Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and R&D teams to ensure seamless implementation of optimizations.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to process efficiency and output.
RequirementsBachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical process engineering, with a focus on optimization.
Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, UniSim) and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab).
Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and chemical reaction kinetics.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Experience with process control systems and data acquisition is a plus.
