Financial Accountant

Our client is a well-established manufacturing organisation known for operational excellence, innovation, and a commitment to continuous improvement. The business is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its finance team and play a key role in supporting both the financial and operational functions of the organisation.
Reporting to senior finance leadership, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting while providing valuable insights into operational performance, capital expenditure projects, costing, and process improvements. This role offers excellent exposure to manufacturing operations and provides the opportunity to work closely with production, procurement, supply chain, and engineering teams.
Job Experience and Skills Required:

• CA(SA) qualification is essential.
• Minimum 3 years post-articles experience.
• Manufacturing industry experience is non-negotiable.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and management accounting.
• Experience managing and accounting for capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects and fixed assets.
• Exposure to costing, inventory management, and operational finance.
• Ability to partner with operational stakeholders and support business decision-making.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Excel skills and ERP system experience.
• Hands-on approach with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Monitor and manage CAPEX projects, including financial tracking, reporting, and fixed asset accounting.
• Support manufacturing operations through costing analysis and operational performance reporting.
• Review inventory, stock controls, and working capital management processes.
• Assist with statutory reporting, audits, and compliance requirements.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the integrity of financial information.
• Partner with operational teams to identify efficiencies, cost-saving opportunities, and process improvements.
• Support business decision-making through meaningful financial analysis and insights.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance and operational functions.
