Warehouse Packer (Seasonal Peak)

This is steady, physical warehouse work at a frozen-food distribution centre in Soweto, and nobody minds if it's your first job. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

You'll be based at a frozen-food distribution centre in Soweto. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What you'll actually do

• Scan every item so the system shows the right stock count
• Unpack returned parcels and sort them into resell or write-off
• Move pallets with a hand pallet jack to the dispatch lane
• Label boxes with the correct waybill and route sticker
• Keep aisles clear of plastic, cardboard and loose pallets
• Count stock during weekly cycle counts and month-end stock takes

You'll need

• Happy to work shifts, weekends and public holidays in peak season
• Punctual, with reliable transport home after late shifts
• You can read product codes and count accurately
• Clean criminal record (most warehouses run a check)
• Grade 10 or higher; matric preferred
• South African ID or a valid work permit

Helpful, not essential

• Experience in a cold-chain or freezer environment
• Previous picking experience with a handheld RF scanner
