Regional Retail Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client, a national retail leader, is seeking an experienced and strategic Regional Retail Operations Manager to oversee a portfolio of stores in the Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal area. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the operational and financial performance of all assigned retail stores within the Richards Bay region.
• Develop and implement regional strategies to drive sales, profitability, and market share.
• Ensure consistent adherence to brand standards, operational procedures, and customer service excellence.
• Manage and develop a team of store managers, providing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement action plans to address performance gaps.
• Control operational costs, including labor, inventory, and expenses, to maximize profitability.
• Oversee inventory management, loss prevention, and stock control across the region.
• Conduct regular store visits and performance audits to ensure compliance and identify best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments (e.g., Marketing, HR, Supply Chain) to support regional objectives.
• Recruit, train, and retain top talent within the store management teams.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of progressive retail management experience, with at least 3 years in a multi-unit or regional management role.
• Proven track record of successfully managing P&Ls and driving financial results in a retail environment.
• Strong understanding of retail operations, merchandising, inventory management, and loss prevention.
• Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in retail management software, POS systems, and reporting tools.
• Ability to travel regularly within the KwaZulu-Natal region and occasionally to headquarters.
• Strategic thinking and the ability to translate corporate goals into actionable regional plans.
• Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced and evolving retail landscape.
• Strong understanding of the local market dynamics relevant to Richards Bay.
